Regular Town Board/Utility District Meeting

 

  1. Call to order

The regular Town Board/Utility District Meeting was called to order by Chairman Perock at 7:30 p.m.                   (See attached Roll call Sign-In Sheet)

      Present:                        Tom Perock, Town Chairman

                                    Randy Treml, Town Supervisor

                                    Randy Vandenack, Town Supervisor

                                    Dale Warpinski, Town Supervisor                      

Judy Benz, Town Clerk-Treasurer

Excused:           Kenneth VanDeHei, Town Supervisor

 

  1. Approve minutes from meeting held on November 13, 2006

A motion was made by Supervisor Vandenack to approve the minutes from meeting held on November 13, 2006.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Warpinski.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Approve the town 2007 budget

A motion was made by Supervisor Treml to approve the 2007 Town Budget.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Vandenack.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Police Department Update/Police Chief Bani

Police Chief, Randy Bani stated Lawrence has been relatively quiet.  He said they are in the process of hiring a new officer.  They received 47 applications.  The pool of applicants was reduced to 16 after the agility and written tests were taken.  Interviews for the remaining 16 applicants will begin soon.  Officer Kaminski’s return is yet to be determined.  The new squad car should be available soon.

 

Nathan Abts, 1467 Sand Acres Drive – asked Chief Bani if the state is considering a speed limit reduction along Hwy 41 between County S and Velp Avenue, due to the high number of accidents.  Chief Bani said discussions have taken place in reference to this matter.

 

  1. Old Trolley Trail/Chris Landwehr

Chris Landwehr was present to explore an option to turn the old trolley track bed into a walking trail.  The trail would span from Lost Dauphin Park to Red Maple or Grant Street in De Pere.  WPS once offered the property for sale to the landowners, some purchased while other did not.

Utility Manger, Greg Little asked how close to the existing railroad tracks would the trail be.  Mr. Landwehr stated it is approximately 50 feet away from the existing railway.  A motion was made by Supervisor Vandenack to proceed with gathering more information.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Treml.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Application for Operator’s License

Item removed from agenda.

 

  1. Proposed Ice Rink at Quarry Park

Deputy Clerk, Carrie Murphy-Auguston, stated the Park Board is considering an ice rink at Quarry Park.  She stated a full sized hockey rink can cost as much at $8,000.  She recommended starting with a smaller, less costly, rink to determine the usage.  Currently there would be no lighting at the rink.  Maintenance Operator, Adam Gildernick recommended flooding the parking lot versus the grass to keep the grass from dying.  A motion was made by Supervisor Vandenack to table this item to allow time to gather more information.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Warpinski.  Motion carried unanimously.  Item tabled.

 

  1. Water and Sewer Utility Update/Secondary water meter policy/Greg Little

Utility Manager Greg Little stated the utility department is currently working on a policy for a secondary water meter for lawn watering.  He sated the policy should be ready for review at the next meeting.

 

  1. Central Brown County Water Authority Update/Randy Treml

Supervisor Treml stated there are close to finishing the work under the Fox River.

 

  1. Fire Department Update/Chief Kurt Minten

None

 

  1. Final Payment in the amount of $26,914.58 to Dorner, Inc. for Lawrence Drive Lift Station & Water and Sewer Extension Project

A motion was made by Supervisor Treml to make the final payment in the amount of $26,914.58 to Dorner, Inc. for Lawrence Drive Lift Station & Water/Sewer Extension project.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Warpinski.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Payment of due invoices and wages

A motion was made by Supervisor Treml to approve payment of due invoices and wages.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Vandenack.  Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Supervisor Vandenack to adjourn the meeting.  Motion seconded by Supervisor Warpinski.  Motion carried unanimously.  The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
