Carbon Monoxide

Carbon Monoxide

As the temperature dips down and frost starts to form on the pumpkins, the heating season is upon us. We remind everyone to have all your heating appliances serviced and checked by a licensed professional to make sure they are operating as intended. Place a CO detector on each floor of your home, much like smoke detectors. If you feel there is an issue in your home or your CO detector sounds, do not hesitate or delay calling the fire department.

Carbon Monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas which is the number one cause of accidental poisoning deaths in the United States. Carbon Monoxide gas is nearly impossible to identify without a CO detector, and even though CO detectors have become common in homes and apartments, CO poisoning still causes about 15,000 emergency room visits and 500 deaths each year.
