HOBART-LAWRENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT WELCOMES NEW OFFICER

Ian Schiefelbein was sworn in Monday evening at the Lawrence Town Board meeting as the newest member of the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department. Ian grew up on a small hobby farm outside the town of Brule, Wisconsin with his seven siblings - two sisters and five brothers. He was home educated from kindergarten through 12th grade. Most of his time growing up was spent in the woods, hunting and fishing, and playing sports (basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball).

Ian's first started working in restaurants and spent a summer working in Alaska on a gas line. In the fall of 2014, he moved to Green Bay and started college at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, where he graduated in December 2016, with an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement with a GPA of 3.95. Throughout college, Ian worked as a Security Officer and, after graduating, worked part time at the State Fair Park Police Department. For the past two years, he has been working at the Brown County Jail and Juvenile Detention Center.

Last year, he married his wife, Chelsea, who joined in Monday night's swearing in ceremony. "From the first ride a long I did with my brother, I knew my passion was law enforcement," said Ian. "I am looking forward to serving and being a part of the communities of Hobart and Lawrence."

Join us in welcoming Ian, whose first day will be December 14th, to the Police Department. All of us with the Town of Lawrence are excited to have him on board to serve and protect our residents.
